After a day that consisted of a little bit of cooking, a little bit of crafting, quite a bit of football and not a whole lot else we decided to have pizza night. I did the veggies, Kyle was on dough duty (as usual) and we all "decorated" our own pies! Then we went back to not doing a whole lot. Hopefully tomorrow will be a more exciting day!
After an extensive search through a giant pile of various sized birds, the turkey has been acquired, but not yet named. Cort's name suggestion appears to be "Treat" since that's what he seems to think the giant bird is. (He barely broke eye contact with the bird the whole time it was on the counter!) Anyway, this makes it official! Thanksgiving preparations are underway in our house. I'll keep you posted on my countdown to T-day progress!! Hard to believe the end of the year is approaching so quickly!!
Jod asked me the other day if I needed a crafting intervention...I may have lied when I said no. Today I did laundry, cleaned the living room & kitchen and cleaned and organized the office, all while crafting! What am I up to you ask. Magnet paint!! Did you know there was magnet paint? I've been dying to use it, and finally decided to give it a try! It's black for now but I'll be painting over it red then hanging all sorts of things on the wall!
AND between coats of paint I worked on these placemats for the dining room table! With all of our colorful Thanksgiving dishes I figured something simple and neutral would be perfect! I wonder what tomorrow will hold!!?
Let me begin by saying I have never been a tea drinker - I'm a juice girl and tea, coffee, etc. has never really done much for me. But, in the last few days I seem to have come down with a cold and we've had some tea sitting around so I did what people do...I drank some tea. Well, a few sips anyway. Still don't like it.
I'll admit that the last couple years, by this time, I've been all aboard the train to Christmas! This year, however, I'm not there yet. Bits and pieces of Christmas spirit have popped up here and there but by no means am I ready to declare my first Fa's and La's of the season - despite the typical markers to do so. Anyway...letters to Santa at Macy's have fired up again! (Today was actually my second pick up.) If you happen to be out and about shopping stop by and write a quick note - each letter equals $1 towards making wishes come true for kids...AND you never know...maybe Santa will make your wish come true too!
That's right, the crafting bug has bitten, and bitten hard! The difference this time is that it is coinciding with the holiday season! Look out world, I'm on a tear! Today, in addition to helping out at the hospital's remembrance ceremony for families, I finished up my baby project, finished a new "white board" for the kitchen AND made my new scarf!! I had some leftover fabric so I of course made Cort one too! I think it'll look great with his coat and he seems to like wearing it! Have a good week everyone, the countdown to Thanksgiving is on!!!
So I've been dragging my feet on using Pinterest (another digital drain on time if you will.) But I gave in, and now I'm hooked! It's pretty much a space to keep idea bulletin boards from all over the internet - crafts, photos, quotes, party ideas...you name it, you make a board and start adding things you come across anywhere online that you like. Well, anyway, through Pintrest I found a new amazing blog to follow and then found new crafts to do! I just couldn't pass this cute little project up. So, I used a shirt that I don't wear anymore and picked up a onesie to make this little outfit for a friend's baby! Hopefully they'll like it!!
