Whelp, 2 weeks later, I think we've finished decorating for Christmas. The tree of course still needs some presents under it, but we'll get there eventually! This is what the living room looks like. It's our first christmas keeping all the furniture in the room and with this arrangement. So far it's working well. Now if I can just finish all this school work so I can start baking and making it feel really christmasy around here!

Up in Smoke...
So here's the thing...I spent pretty much the whole day today on the love seat! Yep, finals season is upon us and I've been working like a busy little bee on my final project! Good news, it's almost done! SO I give you this little tid-bit from yesterday evening. Yep, it appears I jumped the gun yesterday morning! The house behind us caught on fire! Bad part - we both smelled it at least a half hour before the fire dept. got there...we just thought it was smoke from a controlled burn somewhere! Whoops!! That's gotta be grounds for suspension of my neighborhood watch membership! :oP Anyway, there were 6 fire trucks 2 ambulances a couple sheriffs cars and a lot of neighbors out. No one was hurt and there were never flames coming out - just a lot of smoke!! Pretty crazy end to my Saturday!!

Winter Park Morning
To begin, let me say, we all slept sooo well last night! Yay, new bed! So, we started our Saturday out at the Winter Park Christmas parade! Cort did really well - even with the horses, only some bird-like chirps when they went past. The street was PACKED with people and kids! Anyway, once the forever long parade of brownies, boyscouts, politicians, community groups & random cars decorated with window clingers went past we perused some shops on Park Ave. Cort even joined us at Williams Sonoma to look for additional fun Christmas cookie cutters (you'll probably understand that more in later days) and he had his first experience at a store I'm sure he appreciates as much as I do - The Gap! (Pardon my lack of enthusiasm in the picture - I didn't know I was in it!) Best part of our shopping trip, upon walking out of the store, a little girl turns to her parents and goes - "Why...was there a dog...in the Gap?" Her mom quickly answered in a very matter of fact way..."Because he likes to shop!" She must know Cort! So, now we're back at home and the boys are napping - looks like a lazy rest of the day ahead!! Have a great Saturday all!

Things to Celebrate!
Happy Birthday Timmy!!!
It appears that in honor of Tim's birthday, Cort got a present too - and honestly, as a result so did Kyle and I! The new Cozy Cave bed has arrived! I wasn't expecting it so soon, but it's here, and Cort helped to open it and is already dreaming warmly, and peacefully inside of it. Thank heavens, because Cort with no bed = Cort and Erin (and a little bit Kyle) with a lot less sleep!

Cozy Campout
Tonight, Franklin got all fancied up for the holidays. Lights, ornaments, tinsel, the whole shebang! There's still some more decorating to be done around the house but Franklin is ready to go! To celebrate the official arrival of the holiday season we're having a tree-side campout on the Diva Chair. Henry the Elf is getting ready to take his place on a shelf and we'll have our first night dreaming of sugar plums...or something. A pretty good ending to a less than predictable day. A decorated tree and a cozy Christmas campout certainly calls for another La!
C'mon...you know what to do...

Here Tree! Here Tree!
Meet Franklin!! Yep, he's this year's tree! We waited until the "coldest" night of the week to go out to the Christmas tree tent to pick a winner and let me tell you - even though he's still naked, Franklin is a good looking fella! While we made it home in time to see the tree in New York get lit, we didn't leave enough time to decorate our new family member tonight so we'll have to dress him up tomorrow! Throughout the day today, in preparation for tonight's outing I listened to Christmas music and worked on little things around the house. I wanted to ensure I was in the Christmas spirit! AND because we were going out to find our tree it was time to don THIS...
Awesome huh??!! I will now be wearing this necklace (a Christmas gift from last year) for the rest of the Christmas season! I think we're ready for a La! C'mon, you know you want to say it with me!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA MAJ!!
In other news...Be forewarned, this is a bit of a rant!
You're welcome people of Orlando...goodness knows I didn't get shot up for myself - in my mind, if I'm meant to get the flu I should get the flu!! Anyway, all for the sake of others (and not having to wear a mask for the next 4 months) I got stabbed and injected today. Look out everyone, the flu is coming on Thursday!! Better go into hiding! (I'm not bitter...not at all)
