New Beginning...

Little behind - here's a quick run-down. Wednesday night Kyle got home from Colorado, Thursday was uneventful and Friday our friend Nich came over from Melbourne where he was coaching crew and we went to dinner. That brings us to today...and today's pictures of Beau's progression with us. After a lot of thinking and talking and tears on my part, we decided not to adopt Beau. While he is an awesome addition to our family when we're at our house, our lifestyle and lifestyle to be isn't the best fit for him and all of his needs. So, today we took Beau to a trainer in South Florida where he'll live and work on being the best he can be until he finds the perfect family. I was super sad to let him go, but the trainer reassured me/us and I feel like Beau is in the right place (he even went for a bike ride as we were leaving) and we did the right thing for him. It's going to take a lot of getting used to not having my buddy around, but in the end hopefully it'll work out for the best. So, with that said, it was a fun, sometimes hard and an interesting run and we'll never forget our Beau-dog!

Greetings from Fort Collins

Kyle headed out to Colorado this morning for a couple days of meetings for work - he'll be back tomorrow night. Until then Sprout is under strict instruction to stay put! So while Kyle is a couple time zones behind (where it is apparently still Christmas time) I'm hanging out here with the doggers and today went to late lunch with a friend to catch up. Not quite the bedrest that Kyle requested but I'm not accomplishing much around the house either!

Sleeping In

After all of last night's hard work we did some sleeping in this morning. Obviously Kyle and I aren't the only ones who like our sleep. Let's hope Sprout gets on board too! Haha!! We also met up with Sarah and BJ for lunch today and managed to get a few small things done around the house - not nearly as productive as yesterday, buuut still counts for something!

Washing With Power

Two weekends in a row of accomplishments! Today we were bitten by some ambition - Kyle's was more evident than mine but I did my best. He hit the cage with some weeding and plant taming and took on the front "porch" with the power washer. Meanwhile I cleaned up in the living room a bit, scrubbed down the kitchen and then used the new carpet cleaner to tackle the disgusting diva chair. We made time for a little Jeremiah's snack, then after those jobs we rearranged the living room and put up the crib in the guestery. Phew! Too bad there's still more to do!!

Dinner Date

It's a little grainy, but...tonight we headed out for a dinner date, followed by a dessert date, followed by a Redbox movie. To summarize, PF Changs patio for dinner, Jeremiah's for dessert (duh, where else would we go!) and then a comfy cozy movie at home! I must say, it was pretty nice to eat outside in January AND get a swirl ice cream cone and not have to wear mittens, a coat, or shiver!!!! Here's to warm winter weather - and the weekend!! We've been informed that we're supposed to enjoy the next couple weekends we have together...something about things changing soon??? Hmm...

Dog House

Talk about a double edged sword! The weather here is amazing - 80 degrees and sunny each day just about all week. Perfect weather for the windows and doors to be open and the dogs to be outside keeping themselves busy and out of my way while I try to clean up the house. The downside...it's still kind of the dryish season and the backyard is made of more dirt than grass right now. Dogs who spend time outside running through dirt never fail to run right back inside...bringing their dirt. Thus, undoing all the doing I've been doing! Here's hoping our vacuum is feeling up to the challenge!

Mission Mobile

The mission to cuten up the the "guestery" (as I've been calling Sprout's room), continues! Today's project was this starry mobile thing. I have lots of bits and pieces ready to go, I just have to figure out how they all fit together and where they'll end up. It'll come together sooner or later...just like the rest of the house.
