Spring Spruce Up

Today was an awesome and very productive day! During nap time I started the process of painting the previously prepped chair and love seat bench thingy. (Left is the new oil rubbed bronze, right is the old color/finish) I'm pretty excited about how things are progressing and I can't wait to enjoy the finished product!!

Taste of Home

Someone had a little craving for some home, home cooking. After a couple of phone calls the recipe for pancakes was obtained. It was off to the store to collect ingredients and home to put them together. A few minutes on the skillet later, viola! Breakfast! It was a good way to start a busy Sunday! We cleaned a lot and Nora and I had a friend over to play! All and all and good weekend - if only it were longer!

Cushy!

It's that time of year, the cage is about due for some summer-time sprucing up. This year we're looking to make it as usable as possible! Pictures to come when it's all done!

Go-Pod

One can only hold a small, stubborn child with limited muscle strength up in a seated or standing position for so long before it turns into a bit of a chore. So, today was the day! Nora and I went out and got her Go-Pod. It's like a camp chair for babies and activity center thing all in one. As expected she's too short for it (as is with every stand up toy, you'd think she'd get the hint!) Anyway, a slight modification so her feet could at least touch and she's proud as can be and happy as a clam being upright and having her toys to play with right there. That makes me happy as a clam because I can now accomplish things!! Win, win!

Glittery Garnet!

Yay!! My earrings came today! As many of you know, Kyle got me a gorgeous ring for my birthday that I'd been ogling for a long while (seriously, I would visit it when we'd go to the mall). But when it came down to it, I only have so many fingers left without rings and the real piece of jewelry I wanted to add to my "collection" was a pair of garnet earrings to fill the original (second hole story here for those that missed it!) and currently empty set of of holes in my ears. Why garnet you ask, it's Nora's birthstone. So, while we were in Ohio we made a stop at the Diamond Cellar and I guess you could say I designed a pair of studs and ordered them. Well today they arrived and I love them! I was nervous they'd be too big, but as it turns out, they're perfect!! Now I have justification for getting the second holes in the first place and more importantly a special reminder of my 30th birthday and Nora, all in one!

Hap-Hazard Happy Birthday

Weekday birthdays are always a little tough to make super special and Kyle's 30th has been no exception. That said, he did receive and open the cards that I'd been collecting from the mail the last few days along with a couple presents from me and Nora. After that, we did manage to throw together a pretty decent dinner that we ate outside in the work-in-progress cage. (We have big visions!) Hopefully this weekend will lead to a little outside working and a little more birthday celebrating!

Whatcha Doin'??

It's becoming more and more evident that Cort is on team Kyle when it comes to the whole wanting Nora to walk thing. Although, I think, like Kyle, Cort has no idea what the repercussions of Nora's walking will be. Haha, just wait boys!!!
