Slippery Slope...

Nora and I had a fun filled day sneaking off to the outlets this afternoon! The fun didn't stop though! After quite some time, we used the Wii Fit to do some weigh ins tonight and then Kyle decided to play some games. From downhill skiing to analyzing his golf swing he was working up a sweat...then he changed out of his work clothes and changed the game - to Techmo Bowl. Wii Fit is apparently the gateway drug to other video games! Who knew!? Happy long weekend everyone!

Up Front!

This isn't a great picture, but what isn't in it is the thing worth noting. This afternoon after being pent up in our smelly house (thanks for ruining the rug Cort!) the three of us went for a walk. So what's different?? Nora's first walk in the front of the stroller, out of her car seat! It was REALLY hot and sunny so I figured she'd be better covered and more comfy down below. She didn't even flop around! Baby girl's growin' up!

Rainy Kinda Day

It was another one of those days. Lots of rain and lots of gray this morning. Seeing how Cort hates the rain he saw it fit to take to the bed today...and what's a day spend in bed without Bones? I swear I did not move the bed, place bones there or stage this picture. I snapped it exactly as I discovered it. Silly dogger and his little dogger. After the skies cleared a little later in the day Cort and I got back in the running saddle (again!) and went out for a nice late evening jog while Kyle stayed home and fought the sleep fight with Nora. We're at a bit of a sleep crossroads so it would appear that the time has come to enforce some stricter "rules"...sometimes easier said than done, others, easier for someone else to do after I've done it all day!

Water From the Sky

The rain started yesterday evening and it stuck around for a lot of the day today. During one of the gaps I noticed a couple things 1) this GIANT leaf that I'm pretty sure is a jurassic style weed of some sort 2) the really cool water drops on it! Photo-worthy for sure! Hopefully the skies will clear somewhat soon, it's no fun being pent up!

Looking Little!

Mark, one of Kyle's friends from grad school, along with his mom and sister stopped by today on the way to the airport. I've been eagerly anticipating this Nora introduction because I knew that she'd look little in his arms. She's so big already! Best part, I wasn't disappointed! Kyle put it best, "this is the littlest she'll ever look again." You know...unless Shaq drops by or something!

What We Were Doing...

1 year ago tonight this was my face when I found out that we'd be adding a Sprout to the family! While it wasn't necessarily a surprise, it still kind of was. Anyway, I figured I'd share this picture tonight to commemorate the occasion and let all of you see it since we didn't tell everyone for a while after we found out. As for today...
Shalese and I took Nora and headed to downtown Winter Park where we hit up the Farmer's Market, browsed in some shops and had a picnic lunch in the park. It was super hot and Nora was not much in the mood to nap, but still a great afternoon. Meanwhile, Kyle hit some balls and checked out the local real estate AND made a new friend named Charlie. All around a pretty good Saturday for all!

Blank Canvas

Another part of my Mothers' Day present was a blank canvas to be used for a collaborative family art project. Seeing how Nora is quite the finger painting enthusiast we figured that was the technique to use. So tonight, Kyle got home a little early again and Nora seemed to be feeling up to it so our family painting project began! With the help of some vinyl cutouts we let Nora loose...
We couldn't resist letting Cort get a paw in on the action and then Kyle and I followed the lead and finished up the heart in the center. So, without further ado, here you have our finished family masterpiece!
