Going Bananas!

We got the go ahead at the pediatrician on Friday to "practice" with some solids - he suggested just going straight to fruits and veggies since it's clear Nora's getting all the nutrients she needs. Besides that, the food she's trying won't be replacing her normal bottles just getting her ready to add more solids to her diet in a couple months. Anyway, she's had tastes of some stuff (including bananas) but after she tried for 15 straight minutes to steal the popcorn out of my hand, or just grab my hand with the popcorn and put it in her mouth, I figured I'd let her give the whole "real" food thing a go. So here's her first official trial and I think it's safe to say she's a fan!

Shots and Stats

Today was Nora's 4 month physical. Here's the stats - Height: 25.5 inches (I've had her a little longer than that lately but we'll go with the professional measurement) Weight: 17lbs 3oz her head is still small compared to the rest of her, proving that despite the spiky hair she belongs to me too! She did really well with her shots (better than last time), thanks to some Child Life tricks of the trade and had no real after effects other than a nice long nap in her bunny napper this afternoon! Our big little girl is getting bigger by the day!!

Whoa!!!

This is a Wish Kid that I worked with who recently returned from her wish trip to Hawaii with her mom. After everything was complete, we found out that Kay Jewelers was a sponsor for her wish and they wanted her to drop by so they could give her something to remember her trip by. I'm pretty sure that we were all expecting a trinket piece of jewelry, not a full on, pick whatever you want, 2 pairs of diamond earrings, two gemstone/diamond necklaces and a diamond/gold watch, bling for mom and sisters too kind of spree!!!! It was awesome to see her look through the cases and pick things for herself and then her mom and her sister. What a cool memory to always have!!!!!

Hands On

"Look at that - let me touch it!" Typically that's followed up with "Let me put it in my mouth!" Nora's busy discovering everything...and how it feels, and how it tastes. Faces and clothes are not off limits!

Summer Swim!!!

Happy Memorial Day!
What better way to kick off Summer than to head to the pool for a swim! Nora wasn't phased a bit by the big pool, she pretty much just bobbed around and sucked on her hand the whole time. We're off to a good start in the water! Anyway, it was a gorgeous day and we had a lovely afternoon! Let summer begin!!

Manicure Mishap!

A picture is worth a thousand words - or in this case, 1 word - WHHHYYYY!? Yep, I got her good! 10th nail in and she flailed as I was mid snip. I drew blood and tears! Kyle was the cooler head in this situation due to my overwhelming guilt having just broken the baby!

Anyway...we patched her up (bandaiding baby fingers is no small task!) and she seems to be doing just fine!

Time Flies!

Well, here we are! 4 months deep. No turning back now, I'm pretty sure the return policy has expired! Haha! We wouldn't give her back anyway! In the last month our little girl has developed quite the case of grabby hands and we've entered the everything goes in the insanely drooly mouth stage. She is a tummy-timing pro now and is so incredibly close to rolling over on her back and on her stomach. She is all about touch and feel books, still only gives us a laugh now and then but smiles all the time. We've very recently discovered that she likes sunglasses and has learned the new and what she thinks is totally awesome trick of blowing raspberries! (That's what she's doing in this picture) I think she gets a little more independent everyday, starting to sleep through the night, wanting to "help" hold her bottle (read: pull it out of her mouth then get mad at us!) and getting closer to sitting up unassisted although she still prefers to stand. She's developing a great personality and becoming a determined little spirit, whether it's convenient or not for us! Should be some fun times ahead!
