5 Balloons

Wednesday - hiking day!! We started the morning off with a nice long, chilly (mid-40's into low 50's) hike with Maya and Jessica that FINALLY managed to tire Cort out! Yay! We snapped a few of the balloon pictures I'd been planning before we started, but unfortunately a nature induced face-plant cut our little session short. Whoops! After the hike it was home for a Nora nap then we took to nature with our balloon again in hopes of getting some good 1 balloon 1 year shots, only this time at the dog park. (Take a trail where you can get one!) Here's one of my favorites, there are of course a lot more. After picture taking we hung out watching and meeting dogs for a little bit (sans Cortland), Nora LOVED it. She was shivering with blue lips (the temp was falling back towards to the 40's) but didn't want to leave. She also got jumped on and accidentally scratched by a 12 week old puppy. While not thrilled, she recovered quickly and wanted to get right back down and play with him. 5 balloons, 3 parks and one scraped face later, mission accomplished!

Is Nora There?

Today I took a couple pictures of a project I'm working on, but I couldn't figure out a way to crop them as to not ruin the surprise for the intended recipient. So instead I thought I'd share this recent development even though the picture was taken yesterday afternoon. In this case she snaked my phone, but usually it's the remote. This apple doesn't fall far from the tree and it's funny and a little nerve wracking to see her model us with such accuracy (what else do we do a lot?!?) She walks around the house babbling away on her "phone" and has even mastered saying "Hello" at the start of her conversations. Learning, learning, learning!!!

Friends and Photos in a Field

This morning Nora and I went to a different nature preserve and met up with Jessica, Silvia and her son Xavi to walk, play and take lots of pictures. Yay! It was a lot of fun and a great way to spend a GORGEOUS day! Nora and Xavi were super cute together! She was so exhausted after all the walking and exploring in the tall grasses that she zonked out mid-way through her lunch pouch in the car. It was a good way to start the week! Side note: brace yourself everyone, the weather is beautiful, we have lots of plans this week, I've got a photo bug lately AND we're officially in the first birthday week, my Picasa is going to blow up! If you follow my pictures and you're annoyed with the new album e-mails you can un-follow, I won't be offended. :o)

Breakfast Date

I got to sneak in a little extra sleep this morning while Kyle took the first Nora shift. It made my morning to come out into the kitchen and find them sharing the omelet Kyle made!! Happy Sunday!!

Blog Debut

Here he is!! I think, now that this photo has been released it is safe to publicly say welcome to the world Keaton and congratulations Marty & Kristin. It took a whole day, but he has officially made his blog debut. This is the first solo picture I've gotten of him and I'm fairly sure it won't be the last. Nora immediately waved at the picture of him and said baby when she saw it. I think it's safe to say she's smitten with her new cousin. Let the fun times and memories begin!

Never a Dull Moment!

Good news!! Nora has a new cousin! Keaton Cory was born today! From what I gather, everyone is doing well and hopefully we'll have a picture of him to share tomorrow some time. Until then, Nora kept me on my toes all day today. This little mover knows what she wants and finds ways to get it! Yes, she's on top of Cort's crate!

Sharing is Caring

Nora loves to play by the front door - primarily because there are always bits of leaves hanging out on the rug over there. So maybe, what I should say, is Nora loves to play with leaves. Anyway, she's recently learned that Cort too is a fan of leaves, and since she isn't allowed to eat them and he is, she picks them up and feeds them to him. They're becoming quite the tag team!
Surprise, surprise I took a bunch more pictures today, BUT the late day light by the front door is awesome, I couldn't help it!
