Look at this!!! I don't know if I'm happy or sad! At daycare they take naps on mats and by all accounts, Nora did well with it. We've been talking about our next step since the crib is getting cozier the bigger she gets. So after a busy morning, including a run, story time at the library and a trip to the grocery store, today at nap time I decided to put a sheet on the Diva Chair cushion and give it a shot. What do you know...our baby girl conked out! So, now that this has been successful we need to come up with a game plan...do we dare try it at night?! Yipes!

Sharing His 31st Year!
Let's all take a moment to examine this photo. Kyle, happily obliging and holding up his birthday sign while sporting a stellar party hat, Nora giggling away with her hand on her mouth, and Cort...oh Cortland, with his one track mind praying to Dog that the slice of Lemoncello Cream Torte careens off the table, becoming fair game. Happy Birthday, Kyle!! Thanks for sharing it with us!

The Down Side
To multitasking. I doubt this is a case of lesson learned, because lets face it...even as adults we've all been there. Perhaps more metaphorically than this but you know, talking to yourself while walking along a ledge and carrying a bin half your size full of random stuff...next thing you know you're smack on your back with everything spilled out on the ground around you. You can all thank me (more like Nora) for this friendly reminder and little life lesson. Maybe I should start a series of "Things My Toddler Taught Me".

March Madness With Dad
She may have been cranky but some ice cubes and b-ball on the porch with dad did the trick for at least a little bit. It was a gorgeous day today. We spent lots of time outside and it seemed like the rest of the day was spent trying to get Nora to admit she desperately needed a nap! Pretty sure she went to bed tonight still convinced that naps were overrated today.

Weather Warning
Whelp, today, this lovely line of storms lead to a Tornado Warning for Winter Park and areas close by. That lead to...Moving Nora, crib and all, mid-nap (which ended mid-move) into the hallway and battening down the hatches for a storm that ended up being not much of anything (at least by us). Oh well, better safe than sorry...and I think Nora had fun jumping up and down on her bed in the hallway.

Friendly Friday
There was talk of rain today but it never really came. So, instead of dodging raindrops we did some playing outside and rode our bike to the playground. Nora met a little girl that was scared of her at the playground but she did her best to be gentle and get her to come around. I was so proud of her for giving her friend-to-be space and being patient, slow and reading the little girl perfectly. It was pretty amazing to watch. Even the other mom was impressed. In the end, Olivia tended to like me more than Nora, but Nora did sneak in a little hug. Haha! Ready for the weekend!

Oye!
We went to APH today to say hi and visit a little bit. Nora had fun being a social butterfly and the center of attention but stopped short and started shaking at the site of Shamu.
In her defense, he is pretty big!
After we left, first we encountered this...
Oye!
Then we got to Target and...
This happened.
That's right, I was that mom, with that kid. The first shopping cart meltdown is in the books. It started in the parking lot (how dare I not let her suck on her issie in the store) and carried on for another 15-20 minutes as I ignored her screams and nonsense, chatted with her and shopped. Then, it was "Hi's", chatter, and smiles all around! Oye!
