Llama Too!

Can you tell what's been happening here this week? Nora's taking control and doing lots of practicing to make sure that Llama has a clear nose too! It was a fun morning home with my girly before a late ER shift.

Hakuna Matata

It means no worries, for the rest of your days! This is part of the second floor view of the kid's lobby at the hospital. In other news, I saw a baby being born today! I spent the day in the NICU and got watch a teeny tiny premie baby boy come into the world and then get treated by the staff. Super cool! Anywho, my week has been going well, Nora seems to be enjoying her time at daycare - despite the seemingly immediate runny nose that she gets EVERY time she goes back. Things haven't reached their peak of craziness yet, BUT we're most of the way through the first week and doing well, so...I'll take it!

Oh It's Early!

This is what 6:25am looks like from the 6th floor of the King St. Parking Garage. Steamy and dark. It was an early morning this morning - I was in pre/post op, also known as Rapid In & Out (RIO). It was a pretty good day but phew, I'm tired!

Off to a Good Start!

They gave me a binder!!! With tabs!! And lists!! and assignments...weepwaahh! But, I will always appreciate being given a well organized binder - although I was a little sad I didn't get to use the teal one I'd bought for that very purpose BUT I have another use for that one! Anyway. If you haven't figured it out, my internship started today. 3 months of on the job Child Life experience, ready, set, go!

Peaceful Morning

This morning we got up and went to a little slice of beach on the quiet Northern part of the island. The Ocean water was sooo calm and while the bottom got a bit mucky & weedy at times, Nora didn't seem to mind a bit! She was demonstrating her underwater abilities and feeling just confident in herself to make us hold our breath every time she went under (sometimes on purpose, sometimes not). It was reassuring to see her keep her composure and be able to recover when she'd fall and go under and be able to adjust and recover without taking in water. Anyway...It was a gorgeous beach morning, Cort did a ton of swimming (although Kyle and I both agree we think he missed the waves) and even Betty got in on some of the doggy paddle action! After our morning beach session we headed back to Tim & Meg's, got cleaned up and headed for Orlando. We got home late this afternoon with time to spare for a little more cleaning, yard work, grocery shopping, daycare prepping and lunch packing. Back to "school" for me tomorrow! Let the adventure begin!

At the Beach!

Ahh, the beach. Who doesn't love a good beach day? And even more, what is better than a gorgeous beach evening - WITH a double rainbow!!? Not a whole lot!
It wasn't quite a week at the beach but a weekend away is always a welcome break especially right before things get REALLY crazy!!

Trying to do it All!

Before there isn't time to do anything! Clearly I wasn't the only one multitasking today - although, I wasn't sporting a tutu, so that makes me slightly less amazing than Nora. In addition to packing for our mini weekend road trip I managed to get the house put back into some sense of order so that we're able to A) return home to a somewhat clean house on Sunday and B) so that we're starting off on a slightly better food that usual as the chaos commences with my internship starting on Monday. Now, it's time for a weekend to relax and enjoy before it's time to work work work!
