Thanks to Megan and Tim last weekend we were able to take off all the cabinet fronts and remove all the drawers so the cabinet makeover could begin. Here's where we currently stand in the sanding/staining/sanding again process. Things are getting darker by the day in here and I'm loving it!!! It's no small project but I think it's going to have a big impact! My staining project isn't the only work being done - Susan has been a wall washing machine and Kyle is hard at work putting the playroom wall that he and Tim tore up, back together again. Slowly but surely, progress.

Search for a Cure
It was a lovely morning for a walk! The CureSearch Orlando walk at Lake Eola to be exact! Childhood Cancer Awareness month rolls on as Central Florida does it's best to go gold with tributes and events that continue to be held to raise awareness and money for Childhood Cancer research. I was on Shalese's team again this year - Team CCLS - Cancer Can't Lessen Spirits. It was awesome to see kids who I hadn't seen in a while thriving after fighting hard, it's always fun to see the doctors from all the hospitals join forces put politics aside and have a little fun with their patients and it was good to take a moment to remember some of the kids I've known and had say goodbye to in the past 6 or so years. After the walk this morning it was off to the house and down to work. Look out cabinets, we're about to get really chummy!!

Magical!
Woohoo! Today was CRAZY, but it ended up being soo much fun! While we got off to a semi-chaotic start - that's how things work around here these days - by the end of the night I was smiling ear to ear! I had a shadowing experience with Shalese at Nemours hospital for the early part of today, Kyle had a breakfast meeting then work and Nora headed to Loving Earth for a morning of playing. I busted her out early, we stopped at home and got our stuff together, went to the airport to pick up Kyle (the traffic almost pushed me over the edge) and then...we headed to Disney to meet up with my cousin Katie and Aunt Joanne for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! YAY!!! Nora had sooo much wandering around, going on rides, seeing fireworks and watching all that there is to watch, and she looked adorable in her costume (from last year). She was such a trooper but was exhausted by the time we left the park - MIDNIGHT! While we were getting our Disney/trick or treat on Susan arrived and was waiting for us when we got home. She'll be here for the next two weeks to hang out with Nora while we work and help out at the new house. After being gone from my blog for a couple weeks I'm back with a bang!

Cutting My Losses!
Phew! It's been quite a while! Things have gotten a little out of my hands here - between my internship and the homework that comes with it, the new house and Nora, picture taking and blogging have taken a hit! So, I'll give a quick run down for those of you who are interested: Days are currently consisting of early early mornings, days at the hospital for me, daycare for Nora and work for Kyle. Evenings are a cross of cranky and chaos depending on what time I get out and get Nora and nights are for homework and dreams of early bed-times. Both houses are messy, Nora is ready for a daycare break...upcoming...more on that later...and I'm ready for a vacation! All that said we're making bits of progress at the house, especially thanks to Megan and Tim's weekend visit! We're down to 1.5 rooms with wallpaper, 2 walls that need to be put back together, 17 gallons of paint secured, kitchen cabinets that are in the process of being stained and a giant pile of brush/small trees in the center of the backyard! So, there ya have it! Here's to leaving the past behind and keeping up from here on out! Ready, set, go!

Stripping in the Kitchen
With the dining room turned playroom, wallpaper free I got the walls washed and ready to paint, knocked out scrubbing and priming the ceiling and managed to also paint my foot in the process - blame it on the fumes! Meanwhile, this afternoon Kyle took on the walls AND CEILING in the kitchen - he got a good start and I finished it off while he was at his fantasy football draft. As we roll along at the house making small bits of progress tonight was a big night First campout at the new-to-us house!!! YAY! And what?? Tomorrow is a bonus weekend day!? Doesn't get much better!

Off to a Good Start!
We all know how Kyle likes a good breakfast, mix in a game day...you better belly up!!! It's a long season ahead and sustenance is necessary! We spent the day working away at the house (Kyle may have taken a break to go watch the game) but we're making our way towards progress! Happy Saturday and Happy Game Day everyone!!! GO BUCKS!

Rainy Days
This is what a rainy Florida afternoon looks like from the 6th floor of a parking garage. Ya know, in case you've ever wondered. Today was a pretty straight forward day in the PICU to wrap up the week and slide on into the much needed long weekend! To celebrate, Nora and I took time to dance in the drops and prance in the puddles on our way out of daycare. I love rainy days and Fridays!!
