The Sun Was Waiting!

After a chilly almost week spent in Ohio we've made our way back to sunny, warm and humid Florida. The sun waited up for us and we got to watch a lovely sunset on our approach to the Orlando airport. With our March Ohio trip behind us it's time to look ahead to lots of upcoming visitors and trips to Hilton Head in the coming months! Yay for spring!!

Luck O the Irish!

After the kiddos were napped we headed to Stampers for our annual Keaton family St. Paddy's Day celebration! The gang was all there to celebrate and when we arrived there was even a sweet reminder of Grandma on the tables in Keatons' corner.
She was surly with us in spirit - along with the rest of the "oldies"!

Time With Grandma and Pap

"I help me" "Sit Pap" She's a girl with a plan! From helping to make popcorn to convincing Pap to sit in a very teeny tiny chair at an equally tiny table, Nora has enjoyed her visit in Fremont!

Go On Airplane!

This week has been kind of a blur. Nora has been toddlery, I've been trying desperately to get on top of the completely out of control laundry situation we've had going on so that I could spend today packing and getting the house kind of put together so we could feel alright about hitting the road. With the mountain of laundry tamed - for the time being, we've taken to the friendly skies and as Nora loves to say - go on airplane, go Ohio (it's become two words now!). She was very excited at her newly earned independence at the airport - getting to walk around some, look out the windows, give the ticket guy her ticket and board the airplane on her own two legs. (She's usually, happily in her "pouch" the whole way through the airport until we're in our seats) Best part - since I knew what to expect this time I was able to prep her and unlike the first time around, she was content to sit by herself in her own "big girl seat" by the window on the plane. She was really well behaved and super happy despite a flight that crossed through bedtime. Phew! It was a late night for her tonight - here's hoping she can play a little catch up in the coming days.

In a Jam!

Last year was the first year I really took advantage of strawberry season down here and made homemade jam - and well, after that, I just can't go back to eating the store bought stuff...sooo we've been jamless around here for a while - but - not anymore! Today I made a huge batch! Plenty for the freezer and to last hopefully until next year! Now if I can just stop myself from tasting testing it!

Kick Off

Tim & Megan hung out until early this afternoon and then headed back to Hilton Head - probably ready for another few days off after all the work we did yesterday! We had intended to go to the St. Paddy's Day parade that I love going to every year in Winter Park, but Nora wanted nothing to do with it and even less to do with her clothes. At least we got her dressed and on board with going to the soccer game tonight...it was a close call! While we didn't get to take the train as promised (it was overfilled and we wouldn't have fit) we did make the game and had fun watching the Orlando City Soccer Club - Lions play in their first MLS match. Nora loved the fireworks but was a little unsettled by all the loud cheering and celebrating after the game tying goal was scored. Either way, she got to wear her new purple shirt, said she had fun and would like to go back again. All and all a come from behind success!!
