Story Time

Having had a decent number of visitors and a move to her big girl room thrown into the mix, Nora's bedtime routine has been a little off lately - and LATE! As a result, she hasn't been sleeping as well and therefore we haven't been sleeping well. So, I am on a mission to reign it back in! We're scaled back to an 8pm bedtime (which lets face it, counting shenanigans we're still pushing 9pm by the time she's actually asleep) and hoping to get back into a routine and a working schedule. Anywho, bedtime favorite books for the last few weeks are "The Bella Book" which is actually called "This Book Ate My Dog" and "Dirty Pigeon Book" AKA "The Pigeon Needs A Bath" or "Late Pigeon Book" AKA "Don't Let The Pigeon Stay Up Late". These are read pretty much on a nightly basis. So, I give you a glimpse into one of Kyle's dramatic readings of "The Bella Book" and a peek at Nora's big girl room (sans pictures on the walls still). Rain Race

Kyle ran the Corporate 5K downtown tonight in the rain with people from his company. This was the view from the roof of the parking garage (not a Finfrock one) that their team met at before the race. Meanwhile, today was a rough day around here! From the bug guy barnstorm first thing in the morning to a Nora, who was ready to fight about everything and anything, it was a challenge to say the least. And seriously, the "I wants" and "Do thats" oye! The "leadership skills" are getting stronger by the day! But, we eventually made it to the grocery store for "green milk" (with clothes on!) and she was down to bed at a reasonable time without a series of escapes so I guess we finished fairly strong.

No Picture

Ok, so I don't have a picture for today but we did go on a fabulous family bike ride this evening between the rain showers. I wish we would have taken a picture BUT at the same time, there's something to be said for being out and about and enjoying the moment!

Fuzzy Under Foot

Big day today! Carpet went in in Nora's room!!!!! She's moved in and "sleeping" in her big girl bed folks! (Let's be honest she won't be asleep for another hour - she's repeatedly escaping and wandering around avoiding sleep) I'm probably just like 100x more excited than she is. There are still pictures to hang and a few things to gather to spruce up a bit more, but for now here's glimpse at the main event! While in the long term I may will regret the "porcelain" color choice, for now, I LOVE it and Nora does too. Amazing how much a room can change in just a day! 12 hours ago there was a concrete floor in here!! It feels like our house!

Big Girl Bed!

Nora's big girl bed arrived today! She helped me put together the box spring this afternoon and when Kyle got home it was time to release the vacuum packed mattress. She had fun watching the process and is in love with her new bed.

When Lady called on Facetime Nora couldn't wait to show it off, and then caught everyone by surprise when she laid Lady on the pillow so she could get tucked in and lay down with her. Haha! She couldn't decide where to fall asleep tonight (bed vs. cot) we'll find out when we peek in later I suppose. Carpet is supposed to go in her "new" room tomorrow, here's hoping she'll be moved in tomorrow night!!!!

Phew! And with that I'm officially recovered from the great water spill set back of 2015. With a now working keyboard and a caught up blog, it should hopefully be smooth sailing - ya know, until the next crazy thing happens to throw me off my blogging game! Thanks for checking back and hanging with me!

Visitors!

We had some overnight guests arrive this afternoon! The crew from Port Charlotte including Reba, Jerry, Nancy & Dana, arrived while Nora was napping and when she woke up she soon realized that they all came to play and have fun. Nora goofed around with "Great Grandpap" and Nancy and Dana didn't waste time taking to the teepee to read some books (both with and without Nora).

Proud of Her Bag!

We had some errands to run tonight as we're closing in on finishing up some loose ends here and there. We stopped at the mall and a small purchase meant a Nora size bag - nothing makes this girl happier than having a bag to carry while we're out and about. She was one proud little monkey walking hand in hand with her dad! The newest project - building our big kid bed that we pulled the trigger on at Ikea tonight. Funny how you can walk in there for curtains and walk out with curtains, a bed and some other things.
