Last night, while watching Blue Bloods Kyle and I cavalierly decided that we'd take on the bathroom this weekend - I mean it really just needs some paint here and there...how hard could it be to knock out a quick little face lift!? Well, today was wall washing to get off all the left over wallpaper adhesive and goop. Less than fun and way less than quick - Kyle was kind enough to tackle the ceiling washing (yep, there was wallpaper up there too!). With the walls clean we were able to start patching - also notable because I'm pretty sure Boots stood in the center of the room with a nail gun and fired at will. Once we fill in all of the gazillion holes maybe we can talk paint tomorrow! Fingers' crossed! In addition to bathroom progress the guest room is now officially wallpaper free...that task has been a long time coming!

Found Them!
Nora wasn't thrilled about her nap today, so I told her she could read until she was ready to lay down. After about an hour of quiet I realized that I hadn't seen Cort. I looked all over for him and finally I snuck into Nora's room, to find this! Super cute. Nora woke up shortly after I snuck this picture and I'm not sure how long she slept but she was happy to wake up and realize that she'd been snuggling with Cortland - even if it was on the floor against a wall.

Sweet, Spicy, Sour, Sweet
Look how sweet and lovely things were this morning! And really, all morning things were pretty smooth - we had a successful trip to the paint store, an even more successful stop at TJ Maxx and a delicious lunch at Sweet Tomatoes! Then the wheels started falling off! No nap, then nasty Nora showed up. She was...challenging...yes, we'll go with challenging, this afternoon and evening. But, you better believe that as soon as Kyle walked in the door she was right back to sweet again - offering him a drink and all! At least I have a witness to the turn this time! Bedtime wasn't much easier but the Jeremiah's that Jod and I snuck out for took some of the edge off!

Busy Day of Fun!!
Jodums is here! She got in yesterday afternoon and this morning we hit up story time at the library for some reading, puppets, dancing, musical entertainment, crafts aaannnd a little coloring...then headed to the grocery store - thrilling I know! This afternoon there was a lot of playing with a little painting mixed in. Funny how Nora's pretty much convinced that anyone who comes to visit is here solely to entertain her - I mean, it makes my life a bit easier but I don't know that it provides the relaxing get aways that people might be looking for!

Got On It Finally!
I only had one project request for this weekend...to assemble and find a way to hang the pendant light that I've been wanting in the kitchen. We've taken from other fixtures and picked up a few odds and ends here and there and rather than having the pieces and parts laying around the house, I was ready to have them hanging over the kitchen sink! Kyle obliged and headed to Home Depot for the last bits and pieces that we thought we'd need for the project and in the process found out that fixing the bathroom plumbing that has been broken for MONTHS might not be such a huge task! With a few more pieces and parts for that...check out what we accomplished this weekend! The pendant is hanging and operational - over a clean sink & window sill AND the bathroom sink now drains to a drain not a bucket in the cupboard! Woohoo for little projects and little progress!

No Nap Needed!
I LOVE when Nora sleeps in in the morning. In the morning - while I'm sleeping too. When afternoon rolls around and it's nap time, I'm not such a huge fan! Today was one of those glorious 9am wake-up days - much needed for all of us, BUT when 12:30 rolls around, and this girl has only been awake for a 3.5 hours, naps don't fly. She spent the rest of the afternoon nap waring and insisting she didn't need one. Her argument kind of fell apart when I found this at about 5:00 this evening! She slept through one heck of a thunder storm too! I'm still getting used to weathering big storms in this house - the giant trees over us make me a bit nervous so I moved Nora to the big bed in our room and right back to sleep she went. But she wasn't tired!

Make Somping!!!!
After a day at work that wasn't necessarily long on hours but came with a long to do list, I was ready for a relaxing evening to kick off the start of my few weeks off! I picked Nora up and we headed straight to the Y for a late afternoon swim session. She was more interested in playing with her new little friend Charlie than she was in doing much swimming, but she appeared to have a good time - you know, until she turned toddler and it was time to go! When we got home the demands to make something with "sprinklers" began. It wasn't until Kyle got home that the whiney mystery was solved and we figured out that she was asking to make chocolate pretzels with "sprinklers" on them. There's that memory again! We haven't made those since Valentine's Day! Kyle, ever the hero this week, stepped up and back into the kitchen to make Nora's dream a reality. I was in awe of his patience seeing as how I had none left and I know he was tired too! Nora's one lucky girl (and I'm pretty lucky too!)!!
