Lights On

Happy September! Yikes! September already!? With daycare weeks come bedtime battles. Something about spending the day playing makes it extra hard for Nora to wind down at night. Tonight she finally stayed in her room but zonked out while reading Daniel Tiger with her owl light on. I'm not going to complain about a kiddo that falls asleep reading! In other news, Erika has been a bit wet but overall completely unimpressive and hasn't really been anything worth worrying about. The work week continues!

Who Needs a Bed!?

Monday morning. Work and daycare today! Opened the door at 6:30 to find this little gift in the hallway. Having wet sheets and PJs is as good of a reason as any to abandon the bed and move into the hallway outside your mom & dad's door. While our morning routine kicked off a little earlier than intended we checked another work & week day off the list!

Tree Work

Last night's weather was no joke. Awoke this morning and Jessica had discovered this lovely branch dangling from our cable & electric lines running into the house. Like true DIYers Kyle and I donned our PPE to protect from falling pecans - his hard hat was probably slightly more effective than my Nora size bike helmet and got to work VERY carefully taking some weight off the branch and then taking the branch off the wire. No pecan related head injuries, no electric shock, no loss of power or internet and no more branch on the wire! Pretty successful for first thing in the morning!

Can't Dampen Her Spirits!

It was a rainy night at the Citrus Bowl tonight but that didn't squelch Nora's determination to cheer on her Orlando City Lions! Donning their rain jackets - and of course, Nora's rain boots Kyle and Nora went to dinner, killed some time with popcorn during the multiple lightening delays then got to take in 18 minutes of play before another delay was called and so was their night. By the time Nora was home, dried off and tucked into bed (and Kyle was asleep on the couch) the game restarted and finished up with a draw after midnight. While they were gone I made progress on the guest room curtains while watching a chick flick - some projects are always a work in progress!

Friday Night!

We're wild and crazy around here let me tell you! I did have to laugh though because Kyle can't stand when Cort sleeps like this. Lo and behold he does it too!! No more room to talk Mr. Myers! Work week #1 in the books, the guest room is put together enough to be inhabited, Jessica & Maya have arrived and Kyle is ready to catch up on some sleep (me too!)

9 Years In

Here's hoping this isn't some sort of omen for the year ahead! Most people celebrate anniversaries with cute coupley pictures...this is what I have from today haha! I took the day off and did some house related shopping then met up with Kyle for lunch at 4-Rivers. Other than that...pretty uneventful day - well, aside from the flock of vultures that brought their own roadkill lunch out of the street and into our front yard. As if we didn't already have "that yard" in the neighborhood, just add giant garbage eating birds!
