Legit

Well after hanging around here for almost 3 months, it's about time it became official! The playroom is now officially Lincoln's too! I vowed to finish this puppy before bed last night and in the wee hours of this morning it went up on the window. Now Nora's not the only name gracing a window, Lincoln has staked his claim too, with a coordinating banner! Pretty low key day today - managed to get to the Y with both kiddos and zero major meltdowns today. Nothing major this afternoon and a solo trip to Target tonight to secure some items for a certain soon-to-be 3 year old I know and her special day!! Hope everyone in the path of the blizzard stays warm in the winter wonderland!!

Young, Wild & Free

After a successful morning of straitening, thanking and addressing we went on a post office mission to do some stamping and mailing. Once that mission was accomplished I was so excited to go to the park, "good camera" in hand and take some 3 yh3 jh2h4hh4hhhj    ear old pictures of Nora. All the ingredients were right - she was in a photo-cooperative mood, ready to run and play, had picked out a totally Nora outfit this morning, the light was great, Lincoln was napping in the stroller. We got to the park, she went right to the fountain and started playing, and I started clicking...OH NO MEMORY CARD!!! DOH! Trying to get the two kiddos out, it never fails I forget something. So, picture mission not really accomplished other than some cell phone shots of Nora being Nora. And, one video...

Doing exactly what the artist hoped people would do!  Kind of makes you want to be Nora when you grow up huh?

Oh, and don't let all this fool you...there was a giant meltdown upon return home (I intentionally tried to fill the nap slot with this activity in hopes of no nap today - we're not there yet) aaand bedtime is currently an on going circus.  At least the first half of the day was a win!

Busyful Day!

We had a pretty successful day today. Sure the house is still a mess BUT, I did get the family room and kitchen straightened, Nora's room cleaned up and we made it to the Y this morning where both kiddos spent happy time in "the kid's area" and I got a workout in. After that we went to the playground for a bit to enjoy the gorgeous weather and Nora had fun making a new friend and climbing like the monkey she is. Lunch, naps, and then while Lincoln was still snoozing my little chef donned her cooking duds, pulled out her cooking tools and helped me I helped her make some oatmeal cookies. She then kept Lincoln happy while I made some dinner. All and all, few battles and we didn't do to bad on the accomplishing things front, add one to the W column!!

Chill in the Air!

If only tonight was a Friday. By the time Kyle got home tonight the temperature met all fire criteria and after dinner he lit a fire and we had a TV free night. Nora played with a flashlight (and her flashlight book from Jod) and we listened to music, Nora danced and we all just hung out relaxing. Wonderful! I could have camped out fireside but Wednesday is on deck so a good night's sleep is necessary.

Light, Camera, Kiddos!

We had so much fun this morning. It's chilly down here (by Florida standards anyway) so when I was changing Lincoln and noticed how happy he was to be out of clothes and then noticed the big and very warm sunny patch on the floor of his room I took him down there for some diaper only time. Nora came in and well, the light was perfect and I couldn't help but take pictures of the two of them. I love a lot of them for many different reasons but this one kept jumping out at me. It's just so natural and I love how Nora's holding his hand and has her hand so lightly on Lincoln's shoulder. The other highlight of this little photo session - I gave Nora the go ahead to take some pictures (with supervision) with the "big camera" and I watched her fall in love with photography in front of my eyes and she has an eye for it. She is an avid photo taker but the big camera is by far the most user friendly for her despite it's weight and she took to it immediately. I gave her the go ahead to use the old "big camera" so I'm excited to see what comes of it! Photo walks anyone?

Sunday Night Snuggles

Story time! Kyle snapped this picture of me snuggled up with Nora reading about Bebe at the Beach. Lots of sleep battles lately, but after a no nap afternoon she was out cold tonight. We had a busy day around here, both working hard when we stole chances - Lincoln did a lot of sleeping and Nora took turns playing with both of us between our jobs/projects. Another week ahead, hopefully everyone has a good Monday!

The Trees Dance

Lincoln and I spent some time out in the backyard watching the trees dance this afternoon. It was like the world's best jungle gym. His hand was busy in the dirt, arms were moving around, eyes were fixated on the sky and it was clear that he loved the breeze. Perfection! After Nora's nap she came out and joined us too. All I could think about while we were out there was Nora's Maple book.

Even managed to get some snaps of little guy flying in the sky!
