Nora had one heck of a restless night last night. She was in and out of our room a few times, she was returned to her room but then upon leaving for work this morning Kyle found her in the guest room. Nights like last night always make for tired days for both of us but we managed to make it through as we anticipated the re-arrival of Kristin, Marty, Keaton & Bexley. They're bringing a stomach bug of sorts with them - we're keeping our fingers crossed for a Passover miracle of sorts - too many fun things planned for this weekend to be sick!

Super Dad
So today was a little off. We had a pretty smooth morning but nap time wasn't great - there was no napping for Nora and very little "quiet time" to be had. As we were discussing her options Nora decided that rather than going to her room for 30 minutes of additional time on her own (sleep or not) she would rather skip swimming lessons, thus choosing to miss all of the entertainment and interactions that come with swimming. I gave her chance after chance, even a last minute, you sure? She stood fast that she was ok missing out on whatever lessons had to offer - which today, unbeknown to both of us would have included a surprise pop in by Kyle, who finished up a meeting early and decided to go to swimming - but ya know, we weren't there. Seriously, in all the weeks we've been going to swimming 4 days a week, this is only the second class we missed. Typical! Anyway, the extra time wasn't wasted as Kyle came home and took both kiddos out for a stroll & roll in the neighborhood. Here's hoping the next surprise is slightly more successful!

Full and Fun
We did a lot today! We hit up the YMCA this morning so I could workout while Lincoln napped and Nora played in the kids area then took it to the playground where Nora did her thing, Lincoln played in the leaves, pine straw and dirt and they even got a chance to swing together - super cute! Then it was home for lunch & nap, afternoon swimming lessons and finally a trip to the grocery store. I'm really sad I didn't get a picture at the grocery store - Nora walked and had her own list complete with pictures of items and aisle numbers to help her find them - she did really well and seemed to enjoy being involved in the shopping process and Lincoln had fun sitting in the cart, getting to touch some things and taking it all in. Last but definitely not least - we hit up "our" new Jeremiah's! The one closest to our house closed a couple months ago and a new temporary location re-opened today to hold us over until the permanant one is built as part of a big project underway...whatever, minor details. The important take-away we have "our" Jeremiah's back and Nora was super excited to go check it out as a surprise outing tonight! Anyway, it was a busy day with not much accomplished around the house but we had fun out and about!

Whatcha Doin'?
I was in the zone this morning. Lincoln was down for his morning nap, Nora was outside playing with Cort and I was making my way through the house finding random things in random places and returning them to their homes - also known as cleaning up. I was starting to tackle the playroom when I heard water running...upon further investigation, I found the back door area flooded, Nora holding the hose on full blast leggings pulled up into shorts and of course she and Cort were both completely soaked. When I asked her to turn the hose off she informed me, that despite having no trouble turning it on, she was unable to turn it off - I hate when that happens! Haha! Anywho, I took a second to go get the camera, because, well...it was one of those moments! Never a dull moment!

Busy Bakers
Yesterday I promised the kdidos we'd put some of our gathered berries to good use in some tasty muffins, this morning I made good. We got to work making and baking our egg free blueberry muffins and managed to do so with only a minor sugar spill on the table. The muffins were delicious and made for a good activity to keep the kids momentarily occupied while Marty & Kristin gathered and packed up the car for the next leg of their vacation. They'll be spending the week in Hilton Head and coming back here on Friday to finish out their trip with us for the weekend! In addition to muffin making I trimmed Keaton's hair and spent all day working on Nora's in the little snippets of still sitting she'd give me...it was that kind of day. After waving goodbye to the Columbus Majewskis the rest of our day was spent playing, relaxing and doing a little cleaning...no swimming today due to a little mis-hap at the pool...back at it tomorrow!

Picking
We managed to get up and out in decent enough time this morning to make it to the blueberry patch/farm to do some picking! What a gorgeous day to pick berries!! The little littles were contentedly perched upon me and Kristin and the dynamic duo of Nora & Keaton had fun and did well picking the blue ones despite a plethora of green ones they could have filled their buckets with! But who am I kidding? Their buckets didn't have a chance of filling up - they ate all the berries they picked and then started stealing them out of all of our buckets. We left with a total of 3.5lbs of delicious blueberries accounted for - how many pounds Nora and Keaton ate - we'll never know! After that fun adventure (we didn't get any group pictures - I really really need to do better about that!) we headed to Jeremiah's for an icy creamy lunch! There was a group nap and a slightly earlier dinner tonight to top off the weekend. Tomorrow the Majewski crew heads to Hilton Head and we kick off another week!

I Got My Flippy Floppies
After a morning of some this and that, playing & swinging around the house we managed to get all 4 kids to nap! Once everyone was up, we realized that blueberry picking wasn't going to happen today so we opted for the Winter Park Boat tour instead. It was the one thing Nora wanted to be sure Keaton got to do while here on vacation - well, that and the candy store of course...we fit that in too. Kyle and I officially declared a candy store break after today's trip - we are after all the ones who end up eating all the candy! Kristin & I snuck away to Target for a bit and once we got home we all closed out the day with a tasty dinner out on the porch and a seemingly successful, albeit late bedtime for all the kiddos. Fingers crossed it's a good night of sleeping!
