Rods for Clubs

We were up and at 'em early this morning, Sean arrived on the red-eye from California and the kids were up, raring to go. Nora & Keaton took advantage of the rainy morning playing outside and splashing in puddles. I joined the boys for a tasty diner breakfast and they had to scrap their fishing trip due to waves and trade it for golf. The afternoon turned out to be lovely and my mom, dad and I spent the day with the 5 kiddos while the boys played. Needless to say, it was a handful!! We're beat, but everyone survived (that I know of) Marty & Tim have returned home, Kristin has arrived and to my knowledge, Kyle and the rest of his bunch are still hanging out. A weekend of hanging out has begun!

All the Colors!

I picked up Kyle late last night/early this morning in Akron. This morning we went to get our TSA Pre-check, ran a couple errands and hung out a bit. This afternoon he played golf with my dad while I went to the Rec. Dept. with Nora & Lincoln and then went to the playground. Kyle snapped this picture during golf league to prove he can see different colors.

Summer Days

What a summer day! It was about 20˚ cooler today than it was yesterday, but overall gorgeous for much of the morning and early afternoon. I did a lot of unpacking, laundry, etc and the kids got the chance to play outside, Nora rode her bike around the driveway, Lincoln played in the grass and Cort caught some rays. All happy campers!! I even ended the day with a solo trip to Target, some kiddle clothes hanging and a root beer float - because it's time for Floats 'Til the 4th!!!!

Cousins!

I'm pretty sure Maryland is Cort's favorite place that we go! The wide open spaces and backyard with a pool - it's heaven for him and just where Gracie lives! Today we kicked off the gorgeous morning with a double dog walk in hopes of tiring Cort out before another car ride. I think it's safe to say the 4 legged kiddos enjoyed themselves and the 2 legged ones did too. Nora loves to run and help corral the doggers while they explore. After our walk the kids played with Dana while I gathered and played tetris in the back of the truck. I managed to re-fit everything in, loaded up the kiddos and Cort and we headed for Ohio. I had some nerves regarding this drive solo but much to my surprise it went REALLY smoothly with a tired dog, a tired Lincoln and a seasoned road warrior, Nora, we were able to make it the whole way with only one gas stop before we really even got going in Maryland. WOOHOO! We arrived in Bay about an hour before I was hoping too (best case) and the unpacking has begun! Now we just need to get the kiddos settled into a schedule!

Out and Back

From church, to the Famers' Market (in the coolest small town in America!) we had fun out and about this morning. We made it back in time for lunch and nap! After the rests (no hammock nap for me today) it didn't take long for Nora to work her way back into the pool. The rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing pool side watching the kiddos giggle and play. We once again had amazing meal complete with ginormous burgers, tasty salad & zucchini along with some fruit. Does it have to be Sunday already - Kyle is en route back to Florida now to work this week.

Just Poolin'

Today was a play day! The kiddos soaked up sun and swam to their hearts content and brains & bodies were super tired! I managed to squeeze in an amazing hammock nap in the shade of a tree and did my best to shake a driving hangover (or no sleep hangover, whichever) After all of our poolside fun we had a delicious dinner outside on the patio and Nora got to check out lightning bugs for the first time! Unfortunately the weekend is flying by!

Road Trip!

This makes me laugh! This afternoon I took a driving shift and Kyle hung out in the back with the kiddos. It was all fun and games until they apparently all got a little sleepy - one significantly more than the others. Today was a looong day of traveling. We got a later start than planned - going to bed at 1:30/2:00 doesn't bode well for getting up at 4:00am to drive. In addition to/as a result of getting on the road late, we came upon some pretty major traffic snafus and had to make a couple more stops than we probably would have liked...BUT we've arrived safely in Maryland (albeit it that we left yesterday and it's already tomorrow - hehe) and we are all (Cort included) very excited for the wonderful weekend that lies ahead!
