Just Reading
This little guy is too funny. It was back to our weekly routine today and while I was doin' the dishes this morning (sooo many dishes) Lincoln made himself comfy in the baby's room reading. Not only was I appreciative of his patience while I got some important things done around the house, I also loved that he was reading all by himself! So cute!!

Dualing Destroyers
Tornado! I'm about ready to wave the white flag around here - and mid-afternoon the mess got to me. I/we turn my backs for a minute or focus on cleaning up in one room and POOF 2 or 3 others have a trail of destruction running through them! Lincoln is in the dump and run phase and Nora, well she's still all about packing bags full of things and "traveling" around the house with them but also enjoys playing with things that have lots of pieces. When and if she does by chance put them "away" it's usually in a place where Lincoln can get to them and re-dump them. With a 3rd one on the way, I can't even imagine what this place is going to look like at the end of most days!

Digging Out
Last weekend we set to work on taking this mess apart, sorting it out, organizing and purging. We put a dent in this original mountain of nonsense last weekend and continued this weekend. I got some of the shelves emptied, moved into the laundry room and restocked to clear out space. I'm completely exhausted but I guess we're getting a little closer to usable space!

Bone Broken
Well, it's been a good run. My phone survived a cracked screen, recovered from a swim in the toilet and countless other drops and drips but today...it met it's match! I was texting with Liz and Lincoln was demanding my attention so I tossed my phone to the side on the couch and lo and behold - it landed screen down on a dog bone. Because dog bones are kept on the couch apparently. Well, the bone to screen impact appears to be more than my trusty cellular companion could handle and the screen is now kaput! The phone still works, just can't see anything. Luckily I'm just about up for an upgrade, so with the password reset help of my mom I jumped through the necessary online hoops and ordered a new phone to pick up at the store tomorrow. I'm sure I'll lose a couple of pictures off the other, but nothing major. Oh life in a house that's a perpetual disaster!

Solo Time
Lincoln is loving some outside morning playtime. He has all the toys to himself, the yard to himself and no one is telling him what to do, not to do or how to play. As much as he likes his morning books and snuggles I think he's equally into this set up. This morning it was tea in the yard with the "music hat" on (familiar look to anyone?). It's fun to watch how many similarities there are in play at this age between he and Nora - even the way they chatter to themselves!
