They're Here!

When our littles woke up this morning they were so excited that Tim, Meg & Co were here! They couldn't get enough of snuggling Baby Miles! After Lincoln was asleep we moved him into Nora's room and set the 4-some up in his room, beds for one and all! Today was all about playing (well and a little carpet tile laying snuck in - gotta take advantage of the kidertainment!) Kyle went with Tim & Meg to Universal for an anniversary outing to Harry Potter's worlds. That left my mom and I with all 5 kids (including a Miles who is pretty under the weather)
Lady had a blast with Nora, Lincoln, Otto AND Miles and Henry - there was Go Fish, gardening and even some baseball playing. I wish the other 2 Cousins Crew members were here too!!! We even had 4 of the 5 down for naps at the same time...for about 5 minutes haha! We all survived just fine, no worse for the wear but a bit tired! OH! And the couch was delivered first thing this morning!!!! They're all sitting on it in that bottom picture! I'm pretty excited to test it out tonight! The weather is holding out for us, far better than the complete washout of a weekend that has been predicted, so hopefully we can get out of the house and have a little fun tomorrow!

Onto Tiles!

So this picture was taken on the morning of the 26th...BUT here's where "today" the 25th got us. We were still deeeeeeply entrenched in our work when Tim, Meg, Hank and Miles arrived late, but I'm sooooo excited! I have willed this room together. There's a lot left to do, but the painting is done, the carpet tiles are just about all laid, my ottoman arrived and tomorrow is COUCH DAY!!!! I am sooo excited to see this all falling into place! I don't think our weekend guests will get to stay in here - we'll have to wait for next weekend for someone new to break it in, but we're getting closer by the minute and we're super pumped for our long weekend with the S.C. Majewskis - and Lady too of course (and maybe a nap??)!!

Work Work Work, Play Play Play

While my mom continued bleaching all the things while wrangling crazy kids, I continued to hack away at the game room. There is trim that's painted, color on the walls and overall, thanks to a couple back to back LATE nights, progress being made. The kids have been spending tons of time outside which means there is of course water involved. AND, talking about kids, not having to drag the boys to school drop off and pick up is REALLY spoiling me. Nora's on the home stretch of her school year...today is her last Thursday! We also harvested her carrot crop this evening. There were so many! I have high hopes of making a delicious carrot cake with them this weekend. Alright, back to work! Late night ahead tonight, I have painting goals I intend to reach and my new ottoman is scheduled to arrive tomorrow!

A Looong Way to Go!

So as it stands, we have a lot of work to do on the game room before it's guest ready for the weekend!!! There was more playing with Lady today, and also a lot more rain! We made it to story time this morning and then thanks to extra hands and extra eyes (that also cleaned all the porch stuff!) I tackled some sorting, rearranging and purging in the game room and a lot of lawn mowing. With everything primed we're getting closer to paint being on the walls and we managed to hang the fan tonight, and that improvement alone gives us a little bit of wind in our sails! Deep breath...this is going to be a doozy of a project!

Lots of Stuff with Lady

Today was a busy one. Swimming lessons, lots of playing and lots of cleaning too. I got the playroom rearranged and cleaned up and Lady made sure Lincoln's and Nora's got cleaned up too. One thing there wasn't a lot of was game room work, at least during the day. Tonight I did a little more painting trying to finish out the priming and painting process!

Check Up, Finish Up, Pick Up!

It was a bit of a busy day today, but it was helpful that swimming lessons were rained out. After picking Nora up from school we stopped home for a quick lunch then gathered everything we needed and headed to the doctors' office for Otto's 1 year old check up. He did really well, wasn't anxious at all and did well with his pokes too - some tears but a quick recovery thanks to some fun toys & his nuk and then walked out. After we got home it wasn't long before it was time for me to head to volunteering for the last time before summer break and Kyle to pick up the kids so he could pop over to the airport to pick up my mom who got in this evening. We're going to make a big push to transform the game room this week while there are some extra hands on deck...it's a verrrry far cry from done, so we'll see what we can make happen!

Seaside Buffet!

This morning while it wasn't raining we snuck in a trip to the beach for playing purposes AND for picture purposes. Nora and Lincoln were quick to play in the sand and on the water's edge, and Otto was quick to put ALL the sand, rocks and shells in his mouth! In pretty much every picture I took he was either spotting, digging up or eating shells OR crying because he was furious we took them away. I'm pretty sure the picture in the upper left is the exact moment he spotted a shell buffet at his feet! Anyway, we spent the rest of the morning/afternoon cleaning up the house and Lincoln had another swimming lesson. After we left we met up with Grandma & Jerry again, and went to dinner at Applebees. With the kids fed it was a pretty easy drive home, Nora slept pretty much the whole way, Otto too - Lincoln on the other hand was awake pretty much the whole ride, chattering away! It wasn't a long weekend, and we didn't have the best weather, but it was a nice get away! More fun flies in tomorrow!!
