Baby Eve

Well, it's looking like we have another kids with a mind of their own on our hands. This baby doesn't appear to have plans to come on their own so tomorrow morning we head in so I can be induced. While I'm less than thrilled with the idea (I even asked if I could have a couple more days but due to my "advanced" age I was shot down) it has made the planning part easier. Nancy came down to watch the kids while Kyle's at the hospital. They were SOOOOOO excited for her arrival and are pretty much ready to kick us out of the house! It's weird knowing what the baby's birthday will be. I'm willing to guess I'm going to get absolutely ZERO sleep tonight! Last night as a family of 5!

Packing on Track

Since summer is already here and we know things are going to be a little crazy once the baby finally actually joins us, we started making our plans for the journey North. We fitted the tray, came up with our packing strategy, got our bins and started packing some of them so we'd have a head start and there'd be less for me to do in the days after delivery. We're planning to go to Ohio as soon as we can so the more we can do now to prep the less there will be on the list in the next couple weeks.

Catching Some Zzzs

You know it's been a busy play day when this kiddo passes out during storytime on the couch. When he gets tired he gets crazy and a destructive, so these little couch snoozes are a welcome break for this tired mama. The baby is still staying put! Hoping maybe things will kick into gear soon!

Rain Rain Please Stay!

I'm not sure what this bunch loves more - taking advantage of a lightning/thunder free downpour or wearing as many pieces of clothing as humanly possible in one day. Lucky for them, they were able to combine their loves today. They were SO excited when I checked the lighting tracker and gave them the OK to head outside. There were huge puddles, tons of juicy raindrops and lots and lots of giggles. I'm not doing much or moving quickly these days and it's not like we have anything to do or anywhere to be! The baby seems to be of the same mindset, no news to report on that front either!

Playing Their Way

These boys spend so much time playing in their own little world together. I'm pretty sure they were on their ship keeping lookout with their explorers and doing some fishing. While I don't love all the climbing and screen distruction that comes with it BUT it is so much fun to watch - until it all dissovles into a fight - which it always eventually does. Looks like if this kiddo doesn't decide to join us on their own in the next week they're going to get booted. Here's to ball bouncing and squats! Come on kiddo, we want to meet you!!!

Sunscreen Season

I think it's safe to say that Summer has arrived in Florida. High temps, blazing sun, afternoon storms and balmy evenings. I've been laying pretty low this weekend but this afternoon while the kids played in the pool, Kyle glued the big sprinkler together and Cort wandered in and out of the house leaving the door open a million times, I swept off and cleaned up the disaster of a patio that's been driving me nuts for a couple weeks now. Between kid clothes, dishes, toys, chalk, tree debris and all that other random stuff that gets left, dropped and thrown out there I couldn't take it anymore - plus it hurt my feet every time I walked in bare feet. Of course after I started sweeping I had 3 kids who wanted to help all of a sudden - ya know with the part that I was just trying to do in an orderly fashion and finish up. Oh well. It got done and then they immediately moved back in to chalk and ride bikes because wherever is the cleanest is the best place to play. Kyle got the lawns mowed this weekend, the alligator pool has been freed from the shed (it seems to be getting smaller and smaller each time we put it up) and now that the patio is cleaned up I just need to tackle the porch tomorrow to feel like we can spend some summery days outside - coated in sunscreen - I'm pretty sure there is a set of pinkish shoulders and I know there are some rosy butt cheeks after all the time outside today!
