The love hate relationship I have with this room is beyond description! It is the bellweather for the rest of the house, and at this point in time that is not a good thing at all! We're supposed to have an appraisal soon and while we're trying to fix somethings, touch up kid related damage on every door frame and wall in the house the battle against the clutter and to actually clean this place has yet to even begin. And really who am I kidding, they're actively working against me - it's never all going to be clean. Kids!

Dad, I'm Ready!
As long as she's rested and has a full tummy, this girl is ready for whatever hangout she can score an invite to! She was so excited to see her dad when he got home tonight and couldn't wait for stories in Otto's room before the big kids went to bed. It's only Tuesday but it's already been a long week around here - possibly because last week never really ended, just kind of slowly and sloppily rolled into this one. Lots of little projects underway around here in hopes of getting everything ship shape on a short schedule!

Just Keep Swimming
Ms. Jessica is such a trooper! Otto told her he was going to swim 7 laps today (7 is currently his go to number for everything!) She made sure he got pretty close to it. With Nora off today we didn't have to rush nearly as much as we do on a school day, and even better, no bringing her computer and books with us! She swam really hard and then Otto did too...but in order for that to happen, Jessica had to swim/tread hard too - in a mask none the less! I think they were all worn out by the end of lessons. It has been nice to have at least one outing a week for the kids - even if it is usually a rushed mess of failed organization!

In the Air Again
After a summer of back and forths he has it down to a science. Flying looking very creepy! Usually it's just the N95 mask BUT when one of your mask straps breaks you have to layer up to hold it tight. Kyle came home this evening. Happy he's back after a weekend of forward progress in Ohio and whatever the complete opposite of any type of productive progress is here. Now, we head right back into another week! Nora's off tomorrow for a teacher work day, but the boys aren't.

The Goings On
So, here's what's been going on here...Nora is getting ready to kick off her second quarter of distance learning school. Her school is offering face to face but we've made a joint decision that she's going to stay home for this quarter and we'll re-evaluate after the holidays. The boys are both in school doing half days. They're in the same class but Otto goes early and Lincoln goes in the afternoon. AND, Lincoln has become a reader! He's adding new words every day and has even started spelling. This is one of his first examples of sound spelling and he was so proud! I must say, I was pretty impressed and surprised when he showed me. (In case you're wondering - Police & Fire). Kyle's in Ohio for the weekend working on the big house project up there - I'll get to that at some point while I'm back filling - but needless to say, I'm tired!

4 Months and a Fresh Start
After a nearly 5 month hiatus, hello! Meet Hattie - she's 4 months old and making her blog debut. We (I) obviously have some catching up to do but we'll start with this little love. We all love her so much and she's a calming presence for everyone in the house. It's been a busy and very strange break from blogging but after some time away, family discussions and all that jazz it was decided that the blog should live on - if for no other reason than as a great way to document the day to day. So, here we are. I'll do my best to keep up and maybe even fill in blanks that started at the end of May and before Hattie even arrived! Good news is, as much as things have changed - we're still pretty much locked down due to Covid, so that much is still the same! Looking forward to getting re-aquainted...ya know, if any of you are still out there and interested!

Big Sibs - Big Smiles!
Bright and early this morning Kyle and I snuck out of the house leaving Nancy in charge of the crew while we headed off to the hospital because it was time my little sidekick got the boot. Not going to lie I had a lot of mixed feelings about being induced! It turns out I was contracting when I got there I just wasn't feeling them so, drugs or no drugs it was likely there would have been a baby born sometime today anyway. As has become tradition (because we have enough kids that we can have traditions when we have them!) the big sibs were the first to find out whether a brother or sister was joining their squad. Nora was over the moon to find out that we have welcomed a baby girl to the family! With as crazy as things have been in the world lately I'm happy to report that aside from wearing a mask the whole time things were pretty relaxed and there wasn't much in the way of drama surrounding her arrival. Dr. Bartfield ushered the 4th, and final, Myers baby into the world safe and healthy at 8lbs 11.9oz. So without further ado...Meet the long awaited and meant to be Harriet Ann Myers - Hattie! There are a lot of adventures ahead for all of us and the first one will be tonight when Kyle heads home to stay with the rest of the team and Hattie and I hang out here at the hospital on our own. Welcome to the world Hattie girl, you are so very loved already!

About Me
- ervimy
- I'm an Ohio girl who just so happens to be living (with my husband, kiddos and my crazy dogger) in Florida right now...I haven't found a beach I like more than those on Lake Erie, I strongly believe that mashed potatoes and/or peanut butter (individually, not mixed) can fix any bad day, I have an irrational fear of bathtub floors and drains, I absolutely love binders, dividers, calendars, colored pens and school supply shopping and most importantly, I'm glad you stopped by to see what our family's up to down here in the sunshine state!!
