This is the dock diving pool at work...well, its in progress! Anyway, we've been told that it will magically stand up as it fills more, but I'm not convinced! It's about 2/3s of the way full and to me it looks like a tsunami waiting to happen! Yikes!
I couldn't help but share another springtime picture because today was gorgeous. While we were terrible at life, we did take time to enjoy it and soak up plenty of sun! The dogs played in the backyard - Cort gave beating the sprinkler his best effort, Beau tried his darndest to talk the creatures under the shed into coming out and Kyle and I laid around and tried our best to get tan! So now we sit here, watching the Academy Awards, wishing we would have accomplished more this weekend all while continuing not to accomplish anything! HAHA! Oh procrastination. And thus we begin another week!

It's been a while, but today, Holly, the music therapist at the hospital got married and I was asked to babysit for Summer's (the child life assistant I volunteer with) and Paige's, (one of the child life specialists) kids. 5 in total, 3 boys, 2 girls. Talk about knocking the rust off! We went to the playground, (where all the Little Leaguers were playing/practicing...it made me miss softball!!) and as you can see here, decorated cookies...AND the adults were nice enough to leave this...
out on the counter for me after they finished pre-gaming. HAHA! I of course texted them and told them it was very unfair to leave the bottle of vodka sitting out after sticking the babysitter with 5 kids! Their response - "drink up" and "one shot for each kid should help make the evening better!" Anyway, I overcame the temptation, learned that I never want 10 or 12 foot ceilings in my house (or maybe I'll take the ceilings and pass on the kids...hmm) and had a fairly good night! Hopefully you're having a good weekend!!
So, as you might be able to tell, I got to see Jodums today!!! I scooped her up from her hotel at around 6pm and we popped over to Chipotle to pick up some burritos (buy one get one free of course)...DELISH! Then headed to the house for a hangout. The highlights of the night included Kim Catrel finding out about her sleazy grandfather, Kyle's marathon coma on the couch, two goofy dogs, finding out that I have an extra non-muscle- bone thing or an alien residing in my shoulder AND kidnapping Jod and forcing her to go to Jeremiah's against her desire! (Kyle's amazing idea!) When we got there I managed win over her doubts and to casually convince her that she would regret it if she didn't get the gelati (she was just going to get Italian ice...I mean there's nothing wrong with that, but it would have been a mistake!) Then I used her immediate new found love of the heavenly treat to get her to pose for this stellar picture, even though there were a bunch of people around!!! (For those of you who don't know, Jod doesn't like pictures, and she doesn't like looking silly with other people around,) so this is a pretty big accomplishment on my part. She loved it so much she even dedicated a blog post to it!! Another convert! YES! What a great evening!!! Maine softball girls in Jod's van, if you're reading this...you can thank me later for introducing your "driver" to this delectable treat! Except you have to win first, this is college not little league!
For starters, I apologize for the less than stellar video quality. My little camera doesn't have best video to begin with and forget about it when you use the zoom! BUT, this is a clip of Discovery's last launch as seen from the backyard. The rumble didn't make it to us today (I'm guessing the wind was blowing out of a different direction) so you'll have to settle for the chirping birds. It really came down to the wire...I thought for sure they had scrubbed due to computer issues. After waiting outside for 5 or so minutes, at 4:53 I went inside to check the TV to see if it had been scrubbed and it hadn't!! 2 seconds left in the window and they declared a go! So dodging crazy dogs, I ran back out and got some pics and this video. Yikes! Hopefully we can catch the next two launches live!!!! It really is waay better!
Despite what the average Floridian thinks, I know that the end of February is still very much winter time! With that said though, the end of February in Florida does tend to be gorgeous and this tree is one of my favorite parts of each "Florida Spring" (not to be confused with Ohio Spring!) It of course belongs to our neighbor "perfect lawn guy" and every year it busts out in the most cheery yellow flowers, I love it!! So, for those of you still bundled up and digging out...there's hope...flowers and allergies will be in bloom before you know it!

This is "my" backyard in Bay this morning, after the latest ice and snow storm passed through. This is what most of you (my faithful readers) have been seeing day after day and while it might be REALLY old and not so pretty to you, it is like a whole 'nother world to me! You see, not to rub it in, but it's been 80 degrees and sunny here, so seeing that this is what is happening 1000 or so miles north of here is kind of crazy. Not that I've forgotten about all of you shivering and miserable in the cold, but when it feels like Ohio summer it's hard to remember that it is really Ohio winter!!
