This kiddo loves accessories as much as his sister did at this age! I love seeing what he's found and put together when he proudly comes strutting/clunking his way into a room to show off. His outfit doesn't include a headband, sunglasses or ear protection this time but the sparkly shoes really do hold their own. And, also like Nora, he walks surprisingly well in them! Who would have thought those heels would get sooooo much use! Now that Friday is checked off the list, I'm super excited that we're headed into the weekend!! Oh, and as an update to the late night last night - Both kids were up before 7 this morning - uhg and Nora managed to sneak ANOTHER late day nap in the guestery. The napping cave might do me in before it does me any favors!

Red Flag
After a morning spent at school (and the grocery store for me and Lincoln) and a picnic lunch in the park with Miss Debbie & Baby Scarlett I don't know why I was surprised when I came across this hanging on a closed door at 4:30pm. Needless to say, suspicions and concerns were raised. Especially when there wasn't much noise coming from behind said door. As feared...Nora has clearly bought into and is now taking advantage of Kyle's vision of a napping cave for the baby (she closed the blackout curtains by herself but forgot the blinds to block out all the late day sun). Lincoln's lamb and Baby Margaret seemed pretty comfy too! Great to see that the room will indeed provide great sleeping conditions...except that a Nora nap at 4:30 in the afternoon is WAY less than ideal! Sure, it typically curbs the daily meltdown and gives me a late day break, but she practically goes into a coma and then it leads to a late night...like tonight, where it is now nearing 11pm and Nora girl is still awake and ready to hangout. Should be a fun morning tomorrow!

Making Memories
After Lincoln goes down at night, Nora has between a half hour and an hour to hang out solo with us. One of her latest favorite activities is to play Memory with Kyle for a bit before she has to get ready for bed. It's been long days for him again so far this week so getting a little "special time" with daddy seems to help Nora deal a little better. Another session of swimming lessons closed out today with Nora and Elizabeth still working on mastering the medley. They've both decided to rejoin next session so they can just keep swimming! Other than that, we kept it together long enough to check off a quick trip to Target after lessons to pick up Target things and some new Easter baskets and of course both kids fell asleep in the car on the drive home, so I sat in the driveway for a bit while they snoozed. Half way through the week!

Back to Reality
It was back to school this morning after an extended spring break for Nora. I wasn't sure how it was going to go since she had to leave while her cousins were still here - AND knowing that they wouldn't be when she would get home. But, thanks to some solid team work we made it through pretty easily. The Bellefontaine crew closed out their vacation and headed back to Ohio today too so they can get back to real life tomorrow. While the packing process progressed the kids all left notes for Nora to find when she got home from school. AND, while we said goodbye to our visitors today, we did say hello to a new resident - the new living room rug came today! Of course I managed to get it inside and moved around all the furniture so I could have it out ASAP. I'm pretty sure I like it a lot! Yay!!

The Cousins Came!!
I didn't get any pictures yesterday, but this crew arrived fresh from Disney yesterday late afternoon. After Nora spent the whole day sooo excited and asking how much longer, when they did get here, the kids got right to work playing and setting up all the kid cots in Nora's room. We grown-ups threw together a tortellini/meatball dinner and then relaxed after they were all finally zonked out for the night. Today was another full play day for the kids complete with a run/walk to the school, 2-2 soccer game, then Nora's plans of a trip to Phelps playground and Jeremiah's with her cousins was realized. An easy pizza dinner and somewhat reasonable bedtime for a big group of exhausted kiddos rounded out the day. Nora is back to school tomorrow morning and the Bellefontaine Myers gang has to say goodbye to us, Florida and spring break to head home tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed tomorrow's school departure goes more smoothly than what I'm anticipating!!

Holy Molars
Oye, it's molar season around here. Cranky, sleepy, clingy Lincoln, a Nora on spring break, a Lilly who is harboring some fleas and insanely loooong days at work for Kyle mean I'm struggling to keep my sanity and energy. I had plans/intentions to wash the kitchen and family room floors today during nap time so I could bring the finally dry and now somewhat smelly rug back in. But, nap time turned into Lincoln waking up miserable and then falling back to sleep on me in the living room. The snuggles were worth the delay in floor washing, aaaand I suppose all the tiny footprints that were left behind by the Lincoln who was very awake and clingy by the time I actually did get a chance to scrub it. What I will say, is that it feels good to finally wash dirt off of everything!
