Paczki Day!!

Happy Pączki Day!!
Sometimes Kyle likes to make fun of me about how much I acknowledge my Irish heritage, as diluted as it may be...this, however is one day that is all about being Polish! (Even if they celebrate it on a different day in Poland) Some know today as Fat Tuesday, others celebrate Mardi Gras and have King Cakes...for me, today has always been known as Pączki Day, celebrated by eating Pączki! (When my dad made them or I could find them) After three years of searching around Central Florida at long last I found Pączki at a Polish restaurant about 15 minutes from our house!! Real ones, not the jelly doughnut being passed off as a Pączki grocery store kind!! They were fresh made last night and pretty darn tasty! I'm not exactly sure what the filling is - if I had to guess I'd say Powidla. (Which, thanks to Wikipedia I now know is stewed plum jam.) This find was so momentous for me that I felt compelled to cheat a bit and celebrate by adding a picture that actually consists of 3 images. Clever huh!? Anyway, wherever you are and whatever you're eating I hope it's bad for you and you're enjoying every bit of your Pączki Day!
