Race for the Rocket!

I apologize that this picture isn't very good, but I'm lucky I got one at all!!

I was ready for the launch on all those nights and tonight, when it actually happens, I almost forgot!! I was filling my water bottle at the fridge when I heard them cut to the 3-2-1 countdown on the 11:00 news. I yelled NO!!! Grabbed the camera (only had the little lens on it) and tried to screw it on the tripod as I was running frantically across the dining room to the door, but was unsuccessful - haste makes waste! Anyway, after nicely asking whatever fire ants I may have been stepping on in the backyard not to bite my bare feet this is what I was able to get of the new Air Force GPS satellite on its way into space. Not my best work, but still not something you see every day! Good thing I didn't go to Walmart with Kyle, I would have missed the whole thing! (Yes Kyle is at Walmart at 11:00 on a Thursday night). Funny how when you get rid of cable it suddenly "requires" you to have different cables to make all the TV, video, audio stuff work correctly. Oye!

In other news, while tomorrow kicks off a long weekend for some it kicks off a REALLY long weekend for Susan! Have a wonderful last, last day of school!!! Congratulations!!
